Millennials today are viewed in a very negative way. We are the generation that has become addicted to the internet, the mobile phone, the generation that does not vote, and a generation filled with socially introverted individuals who lack basic communication skills. This stigma has been placed on teenagers and young adults today and has had most of the claims validated with just what we see in today's society. Some may feel that this phenomena is something that cannot be undone. However, I believe many different media outlets have attempted to get their users to break away from those stigmas to try a create a new perception and attitude for the this generation.
Several different media outlets have come up with different ways to try and get their users to get out of their normal routine. I will cover how different types of media have gotten people to go outside, meet new people, and get them to try new things. I will also attempt to see if any major impact/differences have come about from these new techniques for these media mediums and see what effects they have had.
Documentaries and articles on mental issues will be your best friend in finding these things. My question is how are you going to tackle this topic through your project?
ReplyDeleteHi Anthony, I think this topic has a lot of potential to be something really cool. The first thing I thought of in regards to making millennials break their introverted ways was the major release of Pokemon Go and its goal of making people more active instead of staying inside their house. However, the bigger question is whether Pokemon Go was truly a success in making people more social or were people still stuck looking at their phones even though they were outside.
