Final- Mishael Avila

Mai Nguyen's Instagram post showing one way that bloggers and companies work together.
For my final project, I created an article that was posted through a personalwebsite. I wanted to take a closer look at what goes on through this process and what are some factors that determine the money and the selection of the bloggers.

Going into this project I really had bloggers and their work wrong. I was one of those people that thought that it was as simple as followers being the only factor that PR companies look for when they are trying to find a collaborator, but it is so much more than that.

I interviewed three bloggers, Lynn Kim Do, Mai Nguyen, Jannel Therese Varona and Lai Frances who handles PR and social media coordination for food start-up, Baonanas. They all agreed that branding and aesthetics are the main things that are looked for when companies are trying to find a blogger to work with, and it is just as important when the bloggers are deciding whether they want to work along with a company or not.

The bloggers that I interview don’t have as many followers as many of the big bloggers, but they still have worked with big names in the fashion industry. I asked them about the process, how they are contacted, what they look for, how are prices determined along a few more questions.

Jannel's Instagram that also shows her "aesthetic"
