Advertising through Social Media

My project will talk about the way that advertisers are using social media. If you scroll through your feed on Instagram, it is almost impossible to not come across a post that has some sort of advertising objective to it. Bloggers and Internet celebrities of all kinds are being asked by advertisers to post a picture, make a video, or write a post with their product. I would like to find out how the advertising companies determine who advertises what and if the opinions of the ones who are posting about the products are genuine or not. Also, the amount of money that the posts cost depend on the amount of followers that the Internet celebrity has, but I want to know if there is an exact rate that determines the price of the post. In addition to research, I am going to try to get in contact with a blogger or Insta-celebrity to see how the sponsored posts work and if there are any other factors that go into this type of advertising.

  1. Mishael I hope everything is going lovely, now as for you project, I am not sure what you plan to do with the research so you could choose to make a blogpost about it or an essay about it. Regardless I think you can utilize YouTube's sponsored advertising. The main reason is that before your YouTube video begins it brings up an ad that may be related to the video you are about to watch while others are not. Through that maybe you can confer about the scheme of how advertisers use media. This along with Instagram celebrity interview can definitely bring out a clearer picture about how advertisers use media to showcase brands, products etc. And maybe you delve into the psychology of marketing and how it can get people to buy products or services. Hopefully this can help you and remember enjoy life.
